Belonging School Climate Surveys

March 21, 2017

As part of our Board's Belonging initiatives, all elementary (Grades 4-8) and secondary (Grades 9-12) schools, along with parents and school staff, are asked to complete a Belonging School Climate survey. The purpose is to find out how students, parents and school staff feel about their school with respect to school safety, equity and inclusive education. We are also very interested in finding out what you think will help make your school a safe, respectful, welcoming and caring place to learn.

School boards are mandated by the Province to conduct a school climate survey once every two years. The survey should take you about 15-20 minutes to complete, but take as long as you need to complete the survey. This is an anonymous survey so please do not type in your name on the survey. The Belonging School Climate surveys will be open from February to the end of March.

Each school will receive a summary report of their Belonging School Climate survey results in early spring 2017. Survey results will also be shared through information meetings by the School Council, as well as in the school newsletter, and each school will develop action plans based in part on the survey findings.

Should you have any questions or concerns about the Belonging School Climate survey, please contact the school principal or you can also contact Terry Spencer, Research and Evaluation Officer at 519.663.2088 ext. 42114 or email:
