LITERACY AND NUMERACY FOR GRADES 7 AND 8

Working together to support your child’s success in school. Is your child:

  • Struggling in English or math?
  • Lacking self-confidence in the skills of reading writing and interpreting?
  • Achieving at or below the provincial standard of level 3 in language or math?
  • Having difficulty applying learning?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, ask the principal or your child’s teacher about participation in after school literacy and numeracy programs.

  • LENGTH OF THE PROGRAM

    The literacy and numeracy programs are:

    • Usually offered twice per week and run outside the regular class day.
    • Flexible and can be designed to meet the needs of students in every school community.

    Sufficient enrolment which meets Ontario Ministry of Education grant requirements is needed in order for the programs to be offered.

    Parents are responsible for making transportation arrangements

  • SCHEDULE

    7:45 am-10:15 am
    10:15 am-12:45 pm
    12:45 pm-3:15 pm

  • REQUIREMENTS

    The principal, in consultation with teachers and parents, identifies students who could benefit from participating in these free after school programs.

  • HOW TO APPLY

    Ask the principal or your child’s teacher about participation in after school literacy and numeracy programs.
