The Centre for Lifelong Learning offers different instructional styles to help support your busy lifestyle.  Continue to read below to determine which courses will best suit your needs.  Flexible delivery, teacher led blended learning, continuous entry teacher assisted courses, either in-class or online using correspondence learning, and for those who like to learn on their own we have self-study courses.

How do I register?

On-going Guidance Assistance - Registration and Continuous Entry

Call to book an appointment or drop in to the Centre to meet with a counsellor who will assist you in registering at the Centre for Lifelong Learning.

You will need a few things to get started

a) An original transcript from your previous schooling.  We can help if you are having trouble getting a copy.
b) Proof of Canadian Citizenship, Birth Certificate, Passport, Immigration documents, permanent resident card.
c) $100 refundable textbook deposit or educational referral and book deposit letter from Ontario Works.

How long will it take for me to earn my OSSD?

This will depend on several variables, how many courses you already have, what kind of work, life and academic experiences you have had, your determination to complete your courses.  Our counsellors will explain your options and will assist you in determining the best pathway for your success.  It can be as short as 6 months.

What classes can I take? 

Day Classes - Teacher Led Blended Learning

For those who like to learn in a teacher led classroom, the following courses are offered for the 2019/20 year.

Day Classes - Continuous Entry - Teacher Assisted

For those who need to earn Grade 9 / 10 compulsory credits or need to refresh core subject skills, these classes are ideal.  Start when you are ready.  Work at your own pace.  Teacher assistance is available from September 10, 2018 to June 30, 2019.  Students enter this class after they have completed an intake meeting with one of our Guidance Team members.

Grade 9 / 10 PLAR

Fast track through missing grade 9 and 10 compulsory credits by completing PLAR for mature student assessments.  As part of this process you are required to take one of the Grade 11/12 courses below.

Evening Classes - Continuous Entry - Teacher Assisted Online Correspondence Learning

For those who can't drop in for help during the day, who wish to complete courses outside of the classroom, this option is available. These courses are designed to be completed online.  There is also the option of meeting with a teacher one night a week to ask questions and receive assistance.  Students are required to attend the first evening so that they can learn how to use the online system and ensure they understand how to work through the course successfully.
