About Our School
Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School is located in the heart of Strathroy, a community of approximately 12 000 people, located 30 km west of London. The school was opened in January 1955, with additions being completed in 1964 and 1966. At the present time, there are 16 classrooms in use on our site. The vast majority of our students are of Dutch and Portuguese descent.

Approximately 80% of the students arrive by bus. Information on bus delays or cancellations during inclement weather can be obtained by listening to 980 AM radio, 97.5 FM radio, or by accessing our board website at ldcsb.ca
Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School participates in the Safe Arrival Program. Students in Grade 6 participate in the Values, Influences and Peers (VIP) program. There is a before and after school program for younger students available when both parents work. The school has instituted initiatives to reduce bullying. There is a Safe Schools Committee made up of teachers, parents and administrators, who meet during the year to address safety issues. The school follows a strict Code of Conduct introduced last year, as well as an Anti-Bullying oath and an anonymous reporting system.

Staff and students of Our Lady Immaculate have many opportunities to pray and demonstrate their Catholic faith. These include school-wide and classroom liturgies, the celebration of the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Reconciliation in Grade Two and the Sacrament of Confirmation in Grade 8.
