Extended Student Absences
​  Extended Absences Under the Education Act; Extended Excused Absences: Pupils Excused under Subsection 23(3) or Regulation 298, the parent or guardian of the pupil  must submit a letter to the Principal requesting that the pupil be excused for a specified time (e.g.vacation outside of board holidays or a family obligation, or sports’ tournaments).  This communication cannot be a phone call or email; it must be a written letter, signed by the parent. The Board requires you to do  this when the absence exceeds 4 days.   The time frame communicated in the letter must be clearly defined.  You are required to submit the letter at least 1 week before the excused time period.  The Principal will then ensure that a program of study will be provided (ie.g.Math work, reading assignment, journal etc).​ ​
