Bookworm Reading Challenge

Students in grades 1- 8 are encouraged to read as many books as they can during the month of October. For each book read, students will receive a ballot for a chance to win some great prizes! Get reading St Anne!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic book fair will be held December 3-7, 2018.

LDCSB School Library Goals

  • Educate students on the functionality, organization and purpose of libraries so that they can be library users for life

  • Promote and foster a love for reading for pleasure and learning
  • Develop library collections that encompass a variety of formats to support Catholic Graduate Expectations
  • Facilitate the use of technology for learning, research and communication

Research undeniably and repeatedly shows clear links between student achievement and the existence of libraries stocked with a variety of resources, and staffed by qualified librarians who collaborate with teachers.​

Borrowing Rules

JK - Grade 3 : 1 book

Grade 4 - 8 : 2 books

Every class has one library period per week. Books must be returned before students can check out a new book.

Lost or Damaged Books

Please do not try to repair books yourself. Bring them back to the library for repair. Students will be asked to pay the replacement cost of any book that is lost or damaged beyond repair. Borrowing privileges will be revoked until the lost or damaged book is paid for.
