Hazel Cryderman-Wees Foundation
Criteria: Foundation assists those pursuing a college or university education in the creative or performing arts. Students must demonstrate exceptional artistic ability. The award provides for tuition and accommodation costs.
Essay Required: Brief explanation of why you should be considered.
Value: 3 – 5 $5,000 - $10,000 over 4 years
Other Documentation: Two references from schools currently or previously attended.
Kin Canada – Hal Rogers Endowment Fund
Criteria: This bursary is awarded based on financial need, community and school involvement, and knowledge of Kin Canada. You must be a full-time year 4 student who demonstrates high ideals and qualities of citizenship.
Other Documentation: Provide proof of citizenship. Application must be sent to local club only.
RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program
Criteria: Selection for the award is based primarily on personal and academic achievements and financial need. You must maintain a full course load leading to a degree, certificate or diploma. Open to students who are Indian, Inuit or Metis.
Value: 10 - $4,000 per year
Other Documentation: Recommendation letter from a teacher, employer or community member.
RBC Students Leading Change
Criteria: Applications must be submitted online. You do not have to be a Royal Bank client however, children of Royal Bank employees are not eligible to apply. You must have achieved a minimum 75% average in your last completed year of study.
Essay Required: Requires completion of an essay question (500 words or less)
Value: 8 - $10,000
Schulich Leader Scholarship
Criteria: A Year 4 Student enrolling in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) studies at one of 20 pre-selected universities. Must possess at least 2 of 3 of the following attributes: outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership; academic excellence; financial need.
Nomination: Yes – Only 1 per school
Essay Required: 600 word essay demonstrating why they would make a great Schulich Leader

Other Documentation: 2 reference letters (at least one academic)
Stacey Levitt Memorial Award
Criteria: Essay must address the following: how do you demonstrate a long life lived to the fullest? – how are you helping others to achieve this? – how do you demonstrate values of nobility, courage and inclusivity? – how do you plan to use the funding?
Essay Required: 2 pages maximum
Other Documentation: Recommendation letter from school or community.
Terry Fox Humanitarian Award
Criteria: Open to students of all abilities and all fields of study. Dedication to humanitarian ideals, courage in overcoming obstacles, and pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic and civic life. Financial need is not a criterion. Renewable for up to four years.
Value: $28,000 (over 4 years)
Other Documentation: 3 referees online (cannot be a relative)
Wally Scott Minor Hockey Bursary
Criteria: Must have been a registered OMHA player for a minimum of 5 years. Must maintain a high standard of academic excellence. Active in any local community sport or social program.
Essay Required: One page letter outlining the request
Value: 2 – $1,000 - $2,500
Other Documentation: One-page letter from the local minor hockey association president supporting the request.
