LDCSB Expands High School French Immersion in London

November 10, 2025

The rapidly growing London District Catholic School Board’s secondary French Immersion program will expand to an additional high school in London for the 2026-27 school year.

The new Regina Mundi College (RMC) will join Mother Teresa as the secondary French Immersion locations in London. RMC will start with Grade 9 and 10 (2026-27) before adding Grade 11 (2027-28) and Grade 12 (2028-29).

The LDCSB has two elementary French Immersion schools in London: St. Anthony and St. John.

All graduating St. Anthony French Immersion students will now attend RMC to continue their French Immersion journey. Current Grade 9 French Immersion students originally from St. Anthony and currently attending Mother Teresa will transfer to RMC for Grade 10 and beyond.

St. John French Immersion students will continue to attend Mother Teresa for French Immersion.

Details will be shared with families.

The LDCSB is the fastest growing school board in Ontario. Enrollment has surpassed 28,000 students, up from 18,500 just ten years ago. New school construction and portables are helping with the growth. St. Gabriel elementary school opened in January, the new Regina Mundi High School and a new elementary school in Kilworth are under construction, and plans are underway to build four additional new schools: two elementary schools in London and secondary schools in London and St. Thomas.
