The fast-growing London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB) has received approval from the Ministry of Education to build three new schools in the region, totaling nearly $154 million before land costs:
$100,090,000 for a new SW London secondary school (1,999 students)
$33,900,000 for a new SE London elementary school (655 students and 88-space childcare centre)
$19,701,000 for a new elementary school to replace St. Patrick, Lucan (424 students)
With today’s announcements, the LDCSB will have 10 major school construction projects on the go: nine new schools and one large addition. Recent and upcoming construction projects are approaching $600 million before additional land costs.
The LDCSB continues to be the fastest growing school board in the province, growing more than 30 percent in five years, and now educates and supports more than 28,000 students with nearly 5,000 employees. To help accommodate the growth, the LDCSB has added 116 new portables over the past three school years, with an additional 12 new portables scheduled for 2026-27 while it ramps up a massive number of new construction projects.

Capital Priorities Program: The Ministry of Education’s Capital Priorities program provides school boards across the province with an opportunity to identify their most urgent and pressing pupil accommodation needs. The Ministry has limited funds available to allocate to school boards, so not all capital priorities receive funding approval.
