Virtual Learning for 2022-23 School Year

If you plan that your child(ren) will attend school in-person for the 2022-23 school year, you can disregard the rest of this email.

Even though it is not yet spring, planning is underway for the Fall and the 2023-23 school year. While the LDCSB believes that in-person learning is the best option for our students, school boards in Ontario are required to provide remote learning options for students next year.

Who It’s For

·       Students who have excelled at online learning over the past couple of years

·       Independent learners (those requiring minimal assistance from an adult other than logging on and submission of work)

·       Students who can maintain a routine and schedule, including arriving to class on time

·       Students who are self-motivated, show a natural curiosity and can work independently

Who It’s Not For

·       Students with attendance concerns. We will be reviewing current attendance records.

·       Those interested in French Immersion, Choir and Music, Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate programs

·       Students with complex learning needs which are best supported in our schools

·       Students who have difficulty completing tasks and working independently

·       Students who do not excel at online learning and using technology

·       Students who found remote learning challenging

·       Households with device/internet access issues
