Teachers
The London District Catholic School Board has been growing at a rapid pace recently. Our student population has increased approximately 30% over the past five years and the London area is now one of the fastest growing regions in Canada. This rapid growth has resulted in a need for qualified teachers at a pace not seen in decades.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a teacher with the LDCSB, please review the information below and email our Rapid Response Team at [email protected] in order to be considered for an interview!
Remember to include your full name, phone number, your OCT number, and any specific questions you have about teaching for the London District Catholic School Board. We will get back to you within the next few business days. Please note our response may be slightly delayed in the summer months.
Do I have to be OCT certified?
Yes, However, if you are not yet OCT certified, you can apply for a Temporary Classroom Support Personnel position.
Do I have to be Catholic?
Yes, except for certain specialized courses.
I don’t have a Pastoral Reference. Is that a problem?
Not really. We now have a revamped Commitment to Catholic Education form (available on the top right side of this page) and you will have two years to get a pastoral reference. We’ll even help you get one!
I have a spouse or partner that is a teacher, principal, EA, ECE, etc. Is the LDCSB hiring in those areas?
Yes, just give us a call and we can talk about other opportunities.
Does my seniority transfer?
No, but your place on the grid does. We are growing so quickly that we estimate we will be on a hiring spree for the foreseeable future!
Is the London area really growing that fast?
Yes! According to some reports, the city of London population will rise from 420,000 almost 650,000 by 2050. If the LDCSB grows at the same rate, our student population could increase from 24,000 to 37,000 students in the same timeframe.
